Torii Alternatives and Freshservice SaaS Management Compared
Abhishek Rana · November 3, 2026

Freshworks has agreed to acquire Torii and extend Freshservice into SaaS and AI spend management. This guide compares Torii alternatives side by side and sets out what to ask vendors about roadmap, pricing, AI spend coverage, and India support.
Freshworks has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Torii, a SaaS management platform founded in 2017. Announced on October 12, 2026, the deal is meant to extend Freshservice, Freshworks’ IT service management suite, into software management and AI spend governance. Freshworks expects it to close in its fourth fiscal quarter of 2026, and it has not disclosed the financial terms.
If you use Torii, or are looking for Torii alternatives, the announcement raises practical questions. What happens to the product you rely on? How will a Freshservice version be priced and supported? This guide compares the main options side by side and sets out what to ask each vendor. It does not claim any one tool is right for every team.
What the Announcement Does and Does Not Tell You
Freshworks says the combination will give Freshservice customers one view of applications, licenses, identities, costs, and AI usage. Torii’s own announcement describes its SaaS and AI discovery work and notes that Torii was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for SaaS Management Platforms.
Analyst coverage of the deal points out several open questions. Freshworks has not disclosed financial terms, and it has not published a timeline for integrating Torii’s capabilities into Freshservice. It has not said whether those capabilities will become native features or stay a separate product. Torii’s existing integrations have no published continuity commitment.
Acquirers often hold roadmap details until a deal closes, so this silence is not evidence of bad intent. It does mean that your current contract is the main protection you have until the terms are clear.
Torii Alternatives Compared
The table below compares the main options. OptyStack appears first. Each cell reflects only what I could verify from vendor or primary sources. Where a cell says “check current,” confirm the detail on the vendor’s site before deciding.
Vendor | Discovery method | Public pricing | Identity coverage | Best fit |
|---|---|---|---|---|
OptyStack | Spend, SSO, and browser activity, with shadow AI flagged and ranked by risk | Free plan with unlimited app discovery and up to three integrations. Pro is ₹100 per user per month, with a ₹10,000 monthly minimum, tax excluded | Acts as an identity broker. Imports users from Google Workspace, Microsoft, or Okta, and applies IP, device, and region conditions to sign-ins | Teams that want spend, renewals, and shadow AI discovery alongside an existing identity provider, including mid-market teams in India |
JumpCloud | Browser extension (JumpCloud Go) and OAuth detection through Google Workspace and Microsoft Entra ID | Check JumpCloud’s official pricing page for current per-user and add-on costs | Full identity provider with SSO, device management, and conditional access | Teams that want one platform for identity, devices, and SaaS access |
BetterCloud | Check current product documentation. Launched an AI-native platform in June 2026 with an IT Agent | Pricing depends on license count, connected apps, and modules. See BetterCloud’s pricing page | Check current integrations | Teams already using BetterCloud’s workflow and IT automation tools |
Freshservice (Freshworks) | Native SaaS license management. AI spend tracking reported as early access | Per-agent pricing bundled with the ITSM suite. Check Freshworks’ official pricing page | Built into Freshservice’s ITSM platform | Teams already running Freshservice for tickets and assets |
Torii is the platform Freshworks has agreed to acquire, so it is not ranked against the others. It is the reference point for this comparison, because existing Torii customers are the readers most affected by the deal. Torii describes its discovery, license management, and workflow automation on its announcement page, and it was named a Leader in the 2026 Gartner Magic Quadrant for SaaS Management Platforms. If you use Torii today, ask for its current integrations and pricing in writing, and keep your contract in place until the new terms are clear.
Read the table as a starting point. Test the shortlist against your own inventory before deciding. The tool that finds the apps your team has forgotten is usually the better choice.
Freshservice SaaS Management: What Is Confirmed
Freshworks has announced the Torii acquisition and its plan to extend Freshservice into software and AI spend governance. Analyst coverage reports that Freshservice customers will get a native option for SaaS license management and AI spend tracking, but that the AI spend product is still in early access. Confirm current availability in Freshworks’ documentation before you plan around it.
Ask whether you need a full ITSM suite or a focused SaaS management tool. If your team already uses Freshservice for tickets and assets, a native option may be convenient. If your main goal is discovering and governing SaaS and AI spend across identity, spend, and browser data, a focused tool may cover that more directly.
What to Ask Any SaaS Management Vendor
These questions apply whether you are staying with Torii, moving to Freshservice, or considering another vendor.
Acquisition and roadmap
Will the product remain available as a standalone offering, and for how long?
Which integrations will be maintained? Ask about your identity provider, ITSM platform, and finance systems.
How do I export my data now, and what migration path exists later?
What changes to terms, support contacts, and data processing agreements take effect at closing?
Pricing
Is pricing per user, per application, per spend tier, or a platform fee? Ask how each changes as your estate grows.
Are AI spend features included, or sold separately?
What is the minimum fee for your user count?
Will pricing change after an acquisition? Ask for that in writing.
AI spend coverage
Does the product discover AI tools bought on company cards, as well as those connected through SSO or OAuth?
Can it show spend by user, team, or application, and track renewal dates for AI contracts?
Does it handle usage-based and credit-based costs, or only seat licenses?
Which AI vendors’ usage data does it connect to directly, and which require manual exports?
Ask for a demonstration on your own data. A vendor that cannot show results against your systems is not ready for a purchase decision.
An India Angle: Rupee Pricing and Local Support
For Indian mid-market teams, pricing and support often decide the choice. Ask every vendor:
Is pricing available in rupees? Ask whether the quote includes or excludes GST, and what payment terms apply.
Where is data stored? Ask which regions host your data and what that means for your compliance obligations.
What support is available locally? Ask about support hours in India time, the channels offered, and response targets for critical issues.
Who is the account contact? Ask whether the contact is based in the region and how escalation works.
OptyStack’s pricing page lists Pro at ₹100 per user per month, with a ₹10,000 monthly minimum, excluding tax. Confirm data residency, local support hours, and GST treatment with OptyStack before committing, and ask every other vendor for the same details in writing.
Making the Decision
The Torii acquisition is a reason to review your options, not to panic. List what you need from a SaaS management tool, ask each vendor the questions above, and test your shortlist against your own inventory. Keep your current contract in place until the new terms are clear.
